ALL ABOUT ME
Robin Kean - Owner/Teacher/Mother of Two
From a very young age (too young to remember!), music and piano have been a part of my life. Working through the Royal Conservatory of Music program for piano and playing flute and piccolo in high school, I continued my studies at Acadia University where I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Music (Piano) and Bachelor of Business Administration.
My piano teaching career began in high school however my teaching career has also taken me to Korea to teach English for 3 years and to the Maritime Business College in Dartmouth after graduating as a veterinary technician.
Piano has remained my passion through it all however and now finally with the space for a new studio, my career focus is solely piano and music instruction.
LESSONS I PROVIDE
I’ve taken my toddler to other music programs and it was very stressful as he cried the entire time. I asked program directors if the actual ‘teacher’ made a difference and was told ‘no’ as they all teach the same curriculum. I switched to Kiddy Keys and let me tell you- the teacher DOES make a difference! Robin has taught for years and as a professional and mother she recognizes that not all children learn or respond the same. My son is shy and she knows when to let him be and when to engage him. Because of this, my son loves his music teacher and instead of crying the entire class, he actually now participates and enjoys himself. Thank you Robin!
